range of cabinets were included in the design to accommodate various sizes
and styles
of drawers, cupboards with adjustable shelving and accessibility.
Native colored
birch was used as a contrasting timber on moldings,
turnings and trim.
Modern
appliances with custom made panels blend perfectly into the overall look.

The
sink worktop and back splash is black granite, the butlers sink sits atop
a
purpose built solid birch unit with full accessibility to plumbing behind
removable panels. The units also feature a breakfront
design.

Fridge/freezer,
and larder unit, note the ventilation slots in the plinth for correct air
circulation matching slots at the rear top of the cabinet allow hot air to
escape.

Solid timber
carcasses provide you with a long term investment that will not swell, flake
or peel at the sight of water and will stand the test of time. Solid timber
accepts knocks and bumps of everyday life and does not chip to reveal a
economy base material.
The large range
of native and temperate timbers gives you solutions for all your color and
figure requirements. Some unusual timbers like the colored birch in the
kitchen above can also be obtained to special order.
This service
can only be provided as I have the knowledge and facilities to search out
the right trees and process them through from standing or windfall to drying
and the finished product.
Specialist inlay
and veneer work can also be incorporated furthering the decorative possibilities.
A recent kitchen designed
and made
for a client who wanted a more
rustic/natural look to blend with
his post and beam home. The design
incorporates kiln dried peeled birch poles with rustic fielded Red
panels madefrom Western Cedar
and a very unusual brown Native
Birch worktop.
